I also wanted to add that in place of the M1L and M1R I did a purl in the front and back of the stitch and was able to get the increase without the “hole” in my pattern.

I am a beginner to intermediate knitter and the believe it or not, it was a fun challenge to figure this pattern out. My daughter is very happy with they way they turned out. She will have warm hands at work.
